You can apply for a credit card by post or online on the Internet. Many people who have good credit scores will find that they often receive pre-approved card application forms through the post. These pre approved forms mean that as long as the information the company holds on the potential customer is correct.
Normally it will take a couple of weeks for a credit card company to process your application though many now promise a response much quicker if applied for online. Once the credit card company has your details they will process them and get your credit score. They will then make a decision on your application. If you are approved then you should receive a card through the post shortly after that. Cards are always sent with a security activation in place and if they are intercepted by anyone then they will not work. You will need to call the credit card company to get the card activated when you receive it, which they will do as soon as they ask you some security questions.
